The magnificently designed sets and costumes, reminiscent of the era of Louis XIV, the grace and skill of the ballet dancers, and the brilliant music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky – all this creates an atmosphere of luxury and celebration.

We invite you and your young audience to meet the heroes of Charles Perrault's fairy tale in the exquisite interiors of the Imperial Theatre.

The Ballet Imperial will present the performance of "The Sleeping Beauty." The magnificent set will transport the audience to a beautiful fairy-tale world. The ballet "The Sleeping Beauty" is filled with elements of a classic fairy tale: romance, poetry, the struggle between good and evil, and, of course, love. The Sleeping Beauty is one of the best ballets in Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's repertoire. The story of a beautiful sleeping princess and the brave prince who awakens her with a kiss.

Audiences can expect not only the dancers' impeccable technique and artistry, but also luxurious production design, innovative ideas, and modern tools, designed to establish a lively dialogue between dance and audience.

Currently, the Imperial Ballet Theatre presents masterpieces of world ballet classics: Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and Giselle. The performances are accompanied by video projections on the walls of the Hermitage Theatre. The animated projections create a captivating visual experience, seamlessly intertwining with the classical stage sets and making the performances unforgettable!

Artistic Director of the Imperial Ballet Theatre, Choreographer, and Principal Ballerina – Ekaterina Volkova (Georgievna).

Her talent and dedication to the art of ballet are confirmed by numerous achievements and recognition at the international level.

Graduated with honors Almaty Choreographic School named after A. V. Seleznev, and also received a bachelor's degree from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, specializing in choreography. She perfected her skills under the guidance of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Georgy Kovtun. In 2017, she received a master's degree in choreographic arts from the prestigious Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet.

She has won prizes at international competitions such as "Tanz Olimp" (Berlin, Germany), "Orleu" (Almaty, Kazakhstan), and "Riga Spring 2016" (Riga, Latvia).

Ekaterina is not only a talented ballerina She is not only a choreographer but also an experienced director. Traveling extensively throughout Europe and Asia on tour, she expanded her professional horizons and enriched her experience working with various companies and cultures. Her skills were highly acclaimed in Kazakhstan, as well as in Europe and Asia, where she successfully implemented numerous creative projects and traveled extensively with ballet performances, representing Russian art abroad.

As the theater's artistic director, she possesses a deep understanding of ballet and is sensitive to the needs and aspirations of her dancers. She has a sincere passion for working with the company, striving to unlock the potential of each dancer and present the very best to the audience.
